“I know troubles, they may come and go
But good times, they’re the gold
So if the road gets rocky,…
Just steady as we go”
I was listening to music as I reply to the 132 (really 132!) I have in the past four days and getting frustrated that I am wearing too many hats in too many areas and putting the pressure on myself to be the best at everything all the time. It is so easy to get mad and lash out when things get tough because we, as a society, feel that the best result is anger to frustration. Trust me when I say this but what can be done by many, can be done by one.
I have not written a post in a while because I have been very busy. I am going to try to write every week now and have them up online either in text or by video (coming soon). In the technology world, it can be a roller coaster ride. I think [and I can be wrong] but that is the same in every industry the world over. Now add that as a business owner plus family and all the other day to day things in life and you can feel the weight of the world on the shoulders. Again, trust me, I know.
But when that happens we should all take a back. Think about it, you are an owner. Not just a business owner but an owner in life. We all feel like we are beholden to some social morays that we see others have. Something I have found out as I progress in this world is you owes no one anything and everyone owes you nothing. We were all given the ability to control our own destiny (with the caveat that some things happen that are traumatic).
So how does one progress to more success in life??? (Wow I so sound like a motivational speaker right now!!) I don’t think there is an answer in that; we can all find our own way to controlling our own destiny. For myself, I have to look in the mirror. Because everything starts and stops with me; I have to be the leader for others to inspire to (not saying I’m the greatest leader or anything…I’m working on it). I guess like the movie said “I am the captain of this ship”.
In closing, we all can complain and feel like we are just going through the motions and can’t get out of the rut. But, I am here to say own it. Own life, own business, own love,…we are all the captains of our won fates.
